World Series Final Game Attracts Over 50 Million Audience Members Across the United States, Canadian and Japan Regions.

The thrilling extended matchup where the Dodgers beat the Blue Jays by one run drew a total 51M watchers in the US, Canada, and Japanese territories. MLB reported this marks the highest-rated Fall Classic Game 7 after the 1991 edition contest featuring the Minnesota Twins and Braves.

Television Ratings Details

The Saturday memorable contest secured over 27 million viewers on Fox channels, Fox Deportes and Fox’s streaming platforms. Per ratings data, it was the second highest-rated program of the previous week.

It also stands as the top-rated World Series matchup since the 2017 edition Game 7 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros, which averaged over 29 million. This marks a 16% improvement compared to the last Game 7 featuring the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros, which drew 23.19M.

In the weekly rankings, Game 6 ranked fourth, the fourth game was 7th, the fifth game came in eighth, and the third game finished in thirteenth place.

International Audience Numbers

In Canada, the game drew 11.6M watchers on the Sportsnet network and the French-language TVA Sports. This made it the most-watched English program in the country after the 2010 edition Vancouver Winter Olympics.

In Japan, where the deciding contest started at 9 PM in the local time zone, it drew 12 million viewers. This came after the previous Friday’s Game 6 – where Fall Classic MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto gave up a single run in six frames – recorded 13.1 million spectators, making it the highest-rated World Series matchup on a sole broadcaster in the country.

Overall Averages and Patterns

The entire seven-game World Series recorded 15.71 million viewers on the Fox network, a two percent rise from the previous year’s Dodgers-Yankees matchup. This represents the initial instance since 2015 and ‘16 that the Fall Classic has seen audience growth for two consecutive years.

Including the opening game broadcast on the Univision network, the total US viewership was 16.1 million. The overall Fall Classic average in the Japanese market was 9.7 million and 8.1 million in the Canadian market.

The complete MLB Postseason on Fox, FS1 and FS2 drew 8.09 million watchers, an 8% increase compared to last year and the network’s best playoff performance since 2017.

Major League Baseball stated that the Fall Classic was broadcast in over 200 countries and territories by 44 media partners in sixteen different tongues.
